Question: How to start a bike that hasnt been started since 2003

Whats up? I hope somebody can help. I'm thinking about purchasing a 2000 Suzuki Gsx-r 600 that has not been started up since 2003. It needs a new battery and a flushing the owner says. If I put in the new battery on the spot and maybe some gas do you think it can be ridden home?

Carbs are probably all gummed up, maybe not though. I'ld drain the gas outta the tank and replace. Take a battery over and give it a shot. Might need a few shots of starting fluid in the intake.

This is neither here nor there but I have a lawn mower that only runs on starter fluid. My brother gave it too me for free after it had been sitting for three years and I'm too lazy rip it apart and clean out the carbs real good so I just soak the air filter in ether and start it up Its a Honda so it takes it like a champ :YEAH

Just check the tank for rust and corrosion and ****.

Clean carbs, replace gas, oil, plugs, and battery. Yep a couple starter fluid squirts in there would help.

About a month ago I got a 1964 Ford F100 running after it sat for 29 years... I basically did everything above.

If it still doesn't start let us know. And also make sure it turns over first (duh).
