Bad Master Cylinder???

Has anyone ever had a bad brake master cylinder? I have two radial 636 masters on my f4i. The hand brake master is rock solid, no problems there.

But the master for my front brakes I can not for the life of me bleed well enough to work good. I have steel braided lines, and no matter how much I bleed, both conventionally and with a bleeder, the lever is squishy and only barely engages at the bottom at the grip with the adjuster all the way out on the lever.

The rotors aren't bent either.

WTF

Re: Bad Master Cylinder???

hey hey thats my thread i made.

u need to open your HB resi up, pour fluid to the very top of it and completely open up the rear bleeder screw on your caliper.. the weight of the fluid will push through like draino n **** and air will rise.. try tapping violently on your rear master cylinder with a wrench and also tap the lines and calipers and HB master to help the air break free from the stuck spots, it would also help to remove the mc from the rearset and turn it in directions so the air will feed up into the line etc...

Re: Bad Master Cylinder???

Keep in mind that it is the master for my FRONT brakes that I am having problems with. My hand brake works fine.
