DirtyToes is a decent person
aftermarket tacho

i don't wanna always ride around streets with my idle @ 3k....wanted to be able to change it when i get to the spot, and keep it low for the streetz.

so i gotta a tacho @ pepboyz for $30.

note: it only revs up to 8k (this might be the issue)

took me about 30 mins to install, and after i tied down all the cable, i reved a few times to make sure it worked. it was fine.

then i took the bike for a ride, a couple miles later, i looked at it and the pin is movin around everywhere.

it still works when i rev it, but lets say i hold the throttle steady at 4,000 rpm, the pin will move around from 3-5k constantly(back and forth).

i checked the cables, and they all have a solid connection.

what could've caused this?

can i have overloaded it since my bike revs to 13k, and this gauge only goes up to 8k? (when i rev more than 8, the pin doesn't stop, it goes right past it, but when i close the throttle comes back down normally)

Re: aftermarket tacho

don't know the answer to your question but here is the link you asked for

if you click on the years there are some pictures of different bike but they all look pretty much the same
