Re: R-6 shift light

1 turn key to OFF
2 push and hold the SELECT button
3 turn the key to ON and then after 5 sec.s release the select button
4 push the RESET button and it will cycle threw 5 diff options for the shift light. use the select button to confrim settings
push reset button to select the next one you want and confirm with the select button

you will have to set all settings in front of the one you want to change to get to it. if you start the bike or turn the key off in the middle it will only save up to the last time you pushed the select button

light activation between 10k and 12k go's in 500'rpms between 12k and 16k it go's in 200'rpms

page 3-7 / 3-8 of my 05 r6 owners manual but should work for your 04 as well

you can change---display brightness - shift timing indicator light activity - shift light on speed - shift light off speed - shift light brigthness

Re: R-6 shift light

I love mine..last bike was a f4i and what a diff..I was gonna keep both but after getting used to the R6 I could not bring myself to ride the f4i (rode like a brick comp. to R6) so I sold it!!!!

If you need anymore help let me know I shorted a 2 page instuct but once you start it should be easy. The hard part is finding out how to get started. I've never tryed to change the settings on mine. Just set the clock once then the batt. went dead over the winter and i never reset it..lol

the R6 is better handeling, quicker(by far), smother ride, need I go on?
only hard thing to get used to was the higher seating position but now I like that too
