06 636 oil light question

Ok i bent the bolt in the oil pan to drain. i had it welded up. i put the pan back on and filled with 15w40. oil light came on. I changed to 10w40, oil light still on. If i rev about 3500 or so light goes off. What would you guys shoot for next? thanks

Re: 06 636 oil light question

oil pressure sending unit may be bad but i would have it checked if you don't know for sure ,and i wouldn't let it run till i was sure i had oil pressure

Re: 06 636 oil light question

im not even sure where it is but they are usually easy to change so if you have a buddy with the same bike you could put his in and see if the light still comes on...

Re: 06 636 oil light question

Would a small leak where pressure could seep out cause that?

Re: 06 636 oil light question

an oil leak shouldn't effect oil pressure
