exaust questions

hey guys i just finished rebuilding my CBR f2-f3... right now i have a full vancen& hines headers and exaust. the slip on i have is hollowed out and i recently blew the endcap off on the road. so now its a big open can. it sounds nice, but ive been hearing things about how its going to hurt my motor in the long haul. this is not my stunter, its my daily rider, im not bothered by the sound and how loud it is, but im just looking to make sure my bike is not being harmed. if i need to i will put a new slip on, but if i dont need to i wont. ive herd that it is hurting my valves because of the lack of back pressure and im loosing top end power. if u guys could just give me a heads up, i would really appreciate it... thanks guys

Re: exaust questions

if any thing you are losing low end power and it shouldn't hurt any thing except your ears ....

to hurt your valves you would have to probably take your header off ....

Re: exaust questions

thanks man, it does seem that the power band dosent pick up untill much higher RPM, but that seems the be the nature of these bikes.... any other opinions welcome

yes it would only hurt the valves if there was no way to dissapate the heat but your header provides the way

Re: exaust questions

actually its the cold air coming back in and warping the valves that does the damage
