Re: Got the new HB setup (pics)

I put mine in the middle. The last one makes the clutch slip and for some reason I just can't seem to adjust it out. Oh well, makes my forearm stronger

Re: Got the new HB setup (pics)

ajust it at the bottom near clutch puller, or do u mean it only pulls enough to make the clutch slip?

I did the same thing, that's the problem I'm having. It binds as you turn the HBs to the left. I just made mine go outside of the left fork. I don't have ram air tubes though.:YEAH

its all in the welder ,machine ,and the gas .......it has to be 100%argon and if it is done right it is strong the aluminum has to be heated with a torch first becuase mig does not get it hot enough unless you heat it first.......thats where people screw up

Preheat is the key, that way the aluminum doesn't only expand in the one part you are welding. Works pretty good. Still a Noob though. Getting use to staggered and using the HB when not able to use the foot brake.

I flipped the clip-opns too. But, you know what I mean. Maybe if I run the cable over the clip-on. We'll see. Will try work on it Sat.

idk man.. i've went through at least 4 of those adjuster bolts trinna run the msr clutch.. couldn't get it to work good... damn clutch cable runs to the left side instead of the right of the motor..

i'd stock up on those bolts.. an it'll be hard cuzz i buy um out all the time...

Re: Got the new HB setup (pics)

my first handbrake i mig'ed my caliper bracket on my 929. i had to do it all custom like cause nobody else had one and nobody knew how to make it. i had a couple pics of tony d's bike to go from on the net but that was it. it held great too. you pre-heat liek mentioned and you have to use a mig spool gun with 100% argon. if you try to use mig through the regular machine the wire will get caught up in the lines...spool is the way.

and ya, that stupid clutch cable is f'ed up on the gixxers....one problem i had with mine. on my f4i i don't have any problems. also, try running the clutch on the outside and cutting the lever down some, that worked for me when i couldn't figure it out...now it's NICE

Re: Got the new HB setup (pics)

Yeah I got the clutch on the inside right now and HB on the outside, got all my cable issues manageable now, you can tell it kinda puts a little pressure on it as the bars turn but no major problems. I spent like an hour trying to get the right setup with the HB on the inside last night, looks like it's staying on the outside until I get aftermarket clip ons.
