need help with a clutch fix, the cheap way....

So i have a 93 900rr and my clutch is slipping lightly when i am just riding but its to the point that i can't clutch a wheelie any more. The motor just revs up and i go nowhere. I am told that i can just replace the friction plates and call it a day. What do you guys do? do you think i need to replace more? like the steel plates or springs? That **** just costs way too much.

grind the steels with a sanding pad on the grinder, adds life to a f'd up clutch, or buy my 900 it's got a brand new clutch

Not to question your knowledge, but have you adjusted the clutch (or had a knowledgable friend adjust it)?

an nice 4-600grit sand on the steels (as long as there not warped) is a easy fix to the glazing, you probably are going to need the frictions as well as new springs. I actually went with a set of springs from another bike (triumph daytona). they were the same diameter just a bit stiffer. worked much beter than new stockers. before you replace anything take a look at the last friction plate, the smaller one, I bet you just shattered it, happens all the time on the 9hundo's. good luck.
