2nd best option for rear brake pads?

Yes I tried search... got nothing.

My problem is that every damn shop around here is out of stock honda pads for the rear brake. They are backordered out of Japan. I put my name down, but i dunno when I'll get em. What would be the next best option?

I have tried EBC regulars and they get sticky and grabby when you're really slow, and EBC HH's squal like pigs, and they heat up a lot and crack rotors.

When you can't get honda pads what to you run?

I think I might last through the weekend... help?

Re: 2nd best option for rear brake pads?

I know that alot of Yamaha bikes like the 04-05 R1 and 03-06 R6 use the same rear caliper as the Hondas, its a different colour and looks a little different but the pads fit 100%...Why dont you try and get a set of OEM Yamaha pads from one of those bikes I usually just go down to the weakers and buy used pads with like 50% left in em...

I got two or three sets of stock honda pads right now, guess its a good time to have em if they are backordered.

Only one problem, unless the cause for the backorder is the Honda wrapper.....both pads for those Yamahas and Hondas are made by Nissin, so IF the reason for the backorder is due to the PADS.....your just s.o.l.

I've heard SBS street compound works well, and if push comes to shove I might rock em some day, until then though, I'll stick with my free stock honda pads! hahahahaha

get in good with a salvage yard, they rarely ever sell pads, so some salvage yards will give em to ya or sell em dirt cheap, and since alot of the bikes they get are from squids wrecking them 2 months after they get their bikes.....and they prolly never learned to use their rer brakes either......the pads are usually good!

where do you order em from? most dealers and shops around here either order from Honda or the only book they've ever seen in their lives, Parts Unlimited (a.k.a. Price Unbearable )
