assembling a clutch

00 f4

i just put the basket and all the plates in, but it doesnt seem right. the little piece that sticks through the center of the plates/basket that engages the clutch just floats. I can pull and push it with my pinky and none of the plates move.. im not sure if im missin a part really because the old clutch destroyed itself, there were pieces everywhere. also is there a certain torque spec for the springs or just snug em up?

i know its confusing but if anyone has any input id appreciate it

Re: assembling a clutch

Just go to Honda and have them copy all the specs, pictures, and any other info you need. That's the best place to start.

Re: assembling a clutch

you would have to pull the **** pretty hard to engage the clutch by hand. i belive that the **** that actuates the clutches needs to be pulled, not pushed. when the cover is on and the cable is hooked up you pull in the clutch lever which in turn rotates a pin which pulls out on that **** and engages the clutch. the lever and cable give alot more leverage. i think anyway
