what kind of hammer should I use to smash in my tank ? I tried this mini sledge and it did'nt do diddly it just kept bouncin' no matter how hard I whacked it! I wrapped the hammer with some socks first! (it is my extra tank) my stock tank is still minty! help!!!

RUBBER MALLET, have at least the outer portion of the gascap on - if not that area will sit up a little higher and usually creates gas leakage around the cap and wont seal right. I learned this from experience. I'm on about my 6th dented tank between my own and ones I did for others..

Work the mallet around the outer edge of the gascap area and once you are about at your desired depth you can work around to the edges to form a little lip for the back of your *** if you want.

hit a rubber mallet with a hammer...

 

Get a towel and a 25lb. dumbell (the thing weight lifters use for curls). Get your dent going then use the rubber mallet to smooth it out. Or just jump up and down on the tank and kick it in with your feet.
