Motor knock
my motor knocks when i first start the bike when its cold until it warms up then it goes away complety. Whats is that?

No oil on all of the internal components.

Mine does the same thing. Clatters for a while, then it just goes away.



Runs great, so i don't sweat it.

on what bike. don't mean to sound like an *** but cam chain slap, tensioner is shot? Sounds alot like a knock.

honda used to have the cam chain tensioner fail, but i'm not sure with the newer bikes. wish i could be more help.

It's not the cam chain, cause that sound does'nt go away.

the exhaust valve(HTEV) is notariously loud ticker. when it warms up, it may get quieter.

Usually cam chain is quiet when cold and makes noice when warm

On my f4i it sounds off durring certain rpms,warm or cold. Guess gixxers are a bit diferent.

If it isn't the exhust Valve in the collector, I think it's the begining of the end for your motor.
