F4i Clutch Slipping

Ok so my clutch started slipping at 13k and i figured it was worn out. I replaced it with a new one. It worked great for about a day. I could clutch it up at about 2mph with no problems with stock sprockets. Right after this i put the bike away. When i got the bike out the next day, the clutch was slipping like crazy. Wont come up for anything. The next day after this the clutch gripped for a little while, but then gave out. Seems to be an intermittant problem. I have 4 qts of mobil 1 10w30 in the bike. Should i try switching to conventional oil? Is the extra .5qts ok? Any ideas?

Dont use that car oil ......Spend the $12 for some Honda oil at least......Motorcycle oil has added **** due to the fact it lubs the tranny too.........And did you replace just the fibers or the whole deal???

I replaced the discs, friction plates, and springs. To tell you the truth the old one still had a lot of meat on it when i pulled it out. Bought some Conventional valvoline 10w40 is that ok? Thats what the honda dealer recommended me.

Re: F4i Clutch Slipping

Im tellin you your problem is the oil your using, car oil breaks down to fast for a bike "being it lubs more than just your engine"......its common sense that you shouldnt run a bike on car oil....and a Honda dealer reccomended Valvoline??? Just try some good ol Honda 4 stroke oil

Re: F4i Clutch Slipping

Ok fellas, pulled the clutch out today. The very last clutch(the one that goes in first) was broken into 3 pieces. Pickin up a new one for free tomorrow. I have no idea how this thing broke. BTW Doodle, might want to watch your *** if you go back out to the spot under 255(gateway commerce drive). State boys gave us wreckless driving tickets and took my ****in video tape for evidence.

Re: F4i Clutch Slipping

SOAK the plates in MOTORCYCLE oil for at least an hour before installing.. and yes there is a huge diference between motorcycle oil and car oil.... wet clutches don't like car oil...
