Im not sure about what 20w feels like, but Im glad i went with gear oil.

Because of the direction of the forces, this setup can be made much lighter and still be rigid.

i ended up just bolting the rod to the top of the tripple. For the mount i used 1/8" x 1" stock steel, about 5" long. I just heated the end and twisted it so that it would be pointed the right way to be bolted up to the damper body. I fastened the mount to the edge of the tank using 2 - 1/4" bolts and put lots of epoxy in there (to help keep it tight and also to keep the gas from leaking). I put 20w fork oil in the damper. I haven't tried it out yet, but just from turning the bars back and forth hard, it looks like it should work great. The mount is solid.

you get it bled ok? no loose spots?

the damper is tilted back at the same angle as the tripple (making the air move to the front of the damper), so even if there was a big *** bubble in there (there isn't), it would only affect the steering when it turned all the way to the left.
Anywho, i tried it out. That thing's pimp. I wasn't able to roll stoppies, though, because i have a battleaxx front tire. But it felt nice for everything else.
