gearing

I have just started stunting and am waiting for my FI cage. I have frame sliders but I am waiting for the cage to get serious so I am tring I get as much info as possible while waiting. I am wondering what the best gearing would be for me on a 929. I want to learn the slow stuff first so I learn to control my bike. Then I will get into the highway stuff. But for now I want to gear my bike for the slow stuff. I have been told -1 on the front and +3 to 4 on the back. I am new to this forum but from what I have seen so far the info in here is far better then any stunt forum I have found.
Thanx
Fox

Re: gearing

ride it stock till u start to get really good rear break contol and then change it to enhance your tricks.

And in my opinion you should start with the fast stuff and get good at that then slow it down.

i've been told I hand out my opinion alot though so mabey I sould shut up

Re: gearing

I run stock up front, +13 on the back. Works great for me but I'm in no position to say its the best for you because I dont know your abilities and I've never heard of anyone gearing up to learn slow stuff and then move onto the highways...

Re: gearing

in my opinion you should definately keep the bike mild to start.. leave it stock or close to it

and highway wheelies are way easier than slow stuff, learn 2nd gear stuff and get brake control then slow them down

then again.. different strokes for different folks

Re: gearing

i think the highway stuff just isnt cool anymore, and you can get hurt way less going 5 than 85, so i would vote towards just lots, of course backroads that are 45mph ish are fun to play around on too once in awhile; but the highway stuff is just lame these days. it might of been cool back in lvx1 but not anymore. all you get out of that is some granny callin the cops on you and makin your life difficult. the highway is full of a bunch of stupid staters that just want to put you in jail to benefit the economy and the politians. but they think they are doing theyre job and keeping people safe... nope...its all just a huge conspiracy...its all about money.... gear the living daylights out of it and stay off the highway its gay.

Who r u trying to impress on the highway? Or get respect from? THis aint Biker Boyzz. Most chicks don't know the difference between a sit down wheelie and a high chair so its useless. And its gay because jail is gay.

And everysingle trick that you do on the highway you can do in a lot--but lets see you do circle wheelies on a highway haha.

I'm with Danger_Dave.

Re: gearing

parking lot stuff first, learn the brake and get a 900rr idle cable for the 929.. +10 -2 is good or just the +13-14 is fine too for gearing

Been there, done that. Wheelies are wheelies,, its easier to learn out on the highway because you can get away with being more choppy on the throttle, but on the other hand your going to get hurt if you eat it.. If you learn in the lots, then its way more twitchy and harder to start out,, but your not going to get hurt, (much).. Soo choose which you want..

Re: gearing

stunting started from the interstate? u sure? im no historian so i don't know...did'nt they stunt like waaay back in the day in the circus or some shiit?

Bottom line is the cops will never leave us alone as long as people keep fuking off in the streets--Im getting sik of getting reckless after reckless after reckless after reckless driving tickets in the lots. Being able to drive where you want whenever is great and you don't realise that until they suspend your **** for 6 months. I just want them to leave me alone when Im not being dangerous to anyone else but me but that'll never happen...so until that permission waver gets signed by the owner ride at your own risk...?
