What do you consider highway speeds? my fellow Torontonian

with a 60 in the rear and -1 you going to loose a good 100KM/h on your top end

I had a '98 zx7r and had 2 down and 8 up on it. You wont get 150mph out of it but it seemed to work well for downtown and lots. They are beastly *** bikes and if you plan on doing slow stuff I'd say **** the top end and gear the **** outta it. Hard to find that happy medium.

Re: gearing for a zx7r

My friends GSXR 600 with 60 rear -1 front still hits around 180/190KM/h
but thats banging off the limmiter
My gearing gives me about the same top speed and I still hit the highway when I have too.......but I try and stay away from it as much as possible.

I will tell you this though if I could do it all over again Id start with less gearing than I did and work my way up to the big gears.
