F4i Problems
F4i Problems
Alright guys I took off my fairings and painted them and decided to also get some of the wires out of the way. I bypassed the tip over sensor and disconnected the front turn signals. Those wires and the rest of them i just zip tied to the wires for the headlight. I left those 2 little boxes that are placed usually right under the tip over sensor hooked up but again theyre just zip tied to the headlight wires.
I started her up and she sounded like ****. Sounded like a facking lawn mower I assumed it was a rattle for sumthing I didnt tighten down on the body. I noticed that the RPMs didnt go up to 3grand but kinda puttsed around at 2k-ish. While i was trying to figure the rattle out the engine just died. Now it will crank over but wont even sputter or start. It only ran for maybe a half a minute or so.
I really dont kno wtf I could have messed up?!?!?! HELP ME IM FACKIN PISSED

Re: F4i Problems
Yes i made sure I bypassed the tip over the right way but im gonna check again. I had used a piece of wire in a horse shoe shape and plugged it in the harness and then wrapped it up with electrical tape. When i turn it to on everything seems to be alright and sound fine. It just cranks over and nothing else.
No I did not remove my gas tank yet only thing I didnt paint because I still have to dent it in.
So its nothing to do with the little boxes that usually sit below the tip over sensor in the nose of the bike?

Re: F4i Problems
Alright well I managed to get it started. I dunno what it was I think it must have been colder out than I had thought and that I hadnt started it up in a while. I finally got the engine to start and held it at 4k untill the temp finally came on and it ran fine (I also re-installed the tip over sensor) with the bike warmed up I re-bypassed the tip over and this time it started right up and ran.
Re: F4i Problems
from personal experience...... you need to do something better than a ghetto wire horseshoe electrical tape concoction for the tip over.........
Make sure it is a solid connection, because if you are rockin anything faster than idle, and that thing loses connection, you are FU(KED!!!!!!!!!
It happened to me at like 25-30 mph in a seat stander...... OTB it was....
no good.
just something to think about.......

Pics of F4i yea sure how do I post them?
As for stunt pics u kno Im new and cant really do **** so why are you bothering to ask for them?
That little horse shoe thing is in there pretty tight but I was thinking about using the harness off the tip over sensor and soldering the outside wires together and then just plugging it in.
