whatever your more comfortable doing... lotta peeps think standin is akward at first but easier once you get used to it..sitting peeps think they are so high but when sittin ur still not at the bp when you can barely see over the top of the bike

all preference... with standups you can control the bike more around bp with swaying side to side and dipping in an out of bp than you can doing sitdowns... i recomend learning that first

I tried learning sitdowns first but the bike just semed to be so freakin high and I couldn't tell how high I really was......I think it is easier to loop sitting. Once I pulled a few stand ups they seemed much more comfortable.

Re: BP better to learn sit down or stand up?

I learned sitdowns first, then hoped to standups and got it on lock, then got back to sitdowns to master it...standups are easier to balace because of your weight distribution, so you can affect the bp more by moving your body then in a sitdown. It is also easier to steer standing up...

and yeah, when I say standup, I mean staggered, cuz I practically never ride standing up on front pegs cuz it's too hard on my arms...

Standups are eaiser but.. After I learned sitting it took 30 minutes to learn standing. I know ppl that learn standing then it takes em a month or more to learn sitting.

Re: BP better to learn sit down or stand up?

I learned how to clutch it up sitting down and then after a while of practicing I noticed I was starting to stand up as it came up higher so i could still peak over the front end. Ive found BP still think its scary as shiz and I cant hold it there if my life depended on it. I just touch it for a second then get scared and chop the throttle (i have a problem that I never think to use the rear brake) and the front end kinda floats up there for a while. Im workin on 2nd gear stand ups now.

Re: BP better to learn sit down or stand up?

I still can't do stand-ups for sh*t, but I'd say sit downs are harder. When I can't see jack when looking foreward but my gauges...I know I'm close to BP. Not how close though, and that sucks. I've had some vid done recently, I'd guess I'm still a few inches shy of hitting the BP, but I have managed to hold a near-steady speed a few times lately. Sit downs feel higher than they are, leading you to not hit the BP because you're almost sure you're nearing 12...when really you're at 9:30
