pressure for learning slow stuff

I've got 2nd gear wheelies good, can rock in and out of bp for 1/2 mile or so but now I'm starting to work on 1st gear.
Clutching it up, stock gears from a real slow roll and just trying to get it up high and keep it steady, I'm still really twitchy with the throttle though, I'm just wondering if going down to 10-15 psi would help me or not. I see guys that are good with real low pressure but I'm not sure if that would help me right now or not, kinda like gearing it sky high wouldn't help me right now either. It's a stock 750

I think I need to just get smoother with the throttle so I can work it up higher and keep it there instead of slamming it down as soon as I let off a touch. Would gear it up somewhat help me get smoother? And I've been running around 27-28

Re: pressure for learning slow stuff

i am running stock gearing and run about 20 psi, perfect for the parking lot and highway, any lower and the highway is wobbly and bouncy

18-22, more towards the higher psi.
better to get used to high pressure now, instead of rocking cbo pressure, and having to adjust later for circles...........

Re: pressure for learning slow stuff

ive always run about 22 psi in my tire since ive started riding hah. My problem with slow stuff is not bein able to clutch it into BP and by the time im in BP im already doin 25-30 MPH but then again my brake control is garbage.. Im a throttle jockey

+1, I'm still at the bobbing up and down stage, go up, go a little higher, go a little higher and get scared and go down a touch, then back up and back down. Not good but it feels so easy to clutch right through balance point

Re: pressure for learning slow stuff

Gearing it will NOT make you smoother. It will give you sore wrists from slamming the front tire into the pavement.

The gearing won't help you too much at this point.. Your 750 has more than enough power to easily come up and stay there.... just practice your throttle control. Gearing made my **** twitchy as hell for a while... I'm used to it now, but it set me back. I run between 20 n 30 psi.
