Re: Help trying to learn bp
Learning BP for me was actually on the road....it was less twitchy at higher speeds, but a hell of a lot more risk if something went wrong. But thats just how I learned it.
90% of people will tell you that's NOT the way to do it.... and I agree.
Get into a lot somewhere... crank your idle up a bit and just start poppin them up till the idle catches it enough to keep you moving and not gain speed, KEEP YOUR BRAKE COVERED and play with it. You'll find it

Re: Help trying to learn bp
Would definitely make it easier.
It's definitely do able. It just takes some more skill/practice. I currently run stock gearing on my 03 636 and dump it on 7-8k rpm to get it up close to BP.
I'm changing my gearing soon

Re: Help trying to learn bp
I wanted to stick with the stock gearing for a bit cause i just figured if i can learn to wheelie easy with the stock set up. Big sprockets would be way easier.. thats what i think anyways! haha

Re: Help trying to learn bp
1) increase idle somewhere between 2500-4000 (I personally think 4k is crazy but everyone is different)
2) remember the quicker you bring it up the slower you can go. If you come up slow n chase out the BP you'll be going to fast for lot riding so quick=slow lol.
3) you can manipulate the BP by using weight displacement w/ your body aka the further back on the bike you are the easer/lower the BP.
4) if you want to keep stock sprocket/gearing good luck at least drop it 1 in the front ( keeps stock look but adds significant torque which = easer n slower wheelies.
5) remember to brin your ***** n your brains. Don't push too quick take your time n learn (road rash sucks)
6) dress for the crash not the ride
7) have a good ****** time n post up some vids. Good luck

Very thorough advice.
I recently changed my gearing from a 40t to a 50t rear sprocket.
I don't know why I didn't do it earlier! Wheelies are almost lazy now!
The only down side is when I have to ride the bike on the free way.
I'm doing 120km/h at 9k rpm in 6th!
