Front Fork Oil Necessary?
Front Fork Oil Necessary?
My front fork seals have blown out for the second time and I'm done replacing these bit*ches--Does anybody stunt without front fork oil so they don't **** all over the rotors/rim? I know it wont affect wheelies but what about endo's without fluids?
Re: Front Fork Oil Necessary?
your stoppies will be garbage with no fork oil. The front end will bounce like an 83 regal every time you hit a bump or compress em..
Check your fork tubes for scoring. If they are scored or have pit parks, they are booty and you need to get new ones. If they look good, make sure you are putting in the OEM stock ones, aftermarket ones suck. Also make sure whoever is replacing the seals is doing it right and adding the correct amount of fork oil.

i have no oil left...and everytime i come down it sounds like the tubes are gonna shoot out the top...it should be ok for a hort about of time but i would def replace them again and yeas only with oem parts..
<----have had fork seals for like 3 months and have yet to put them in (although i really haven't ridden this year)

Re: Front Fork Oil Necessary?
Yes it is a real question and no I don't come down very hard--I had a reputable mechanic replace only my seals a few months ago--I think he might have put aftermarket seals in--I might just go through this one more time and order the OEM bushings/seals myself...
Re: Front Fork Oil Necessary?
[I been riding for about a year and a 1/2, with blown forks on my 929, my stoppies went from 250ft to like 30ft, they compress all the way and you cant hit the balance, with out fliping, and everytime I land a wheelie it sounds like hell, but oh well I just dont feel like fixing them.
Re: Front Fork Oil Necessary?
My friend popped a wheelie with an offroad bike which didn't have fork oils and for a second there he did his first wheelie with no frontwheel or half of the forks.. faceplanted and had to buy new frontforks
