I have a gsxr 600. I can do descent wheelies but the only why i can get it up is in first. I am selling this bike. What bike is a good bike for freeway wheelies, and stoppies and what not.

 

DECENT ain't good enough to be doing freeway stuff , your wheelies need to be -tyte. What year six do you have b/c that puppy should come up in 2nd? Maybe you just need to practice, practice, and practice some more

I would have to say that the problem is you and not the bike, I am not trying to be mean. I would guess that you still have some fear of crashing or that you are not doing it properly. Trust me I know I have a 64 tooth rear sprocket and I am still having problems riding a wheelie out. I just need to practice more, if I were you I would find a more experienced rider in your area and see if he is willing to help you. I was lucky to find some in my area and just by riding next to them and talking to them it has helped alot with my cofidence. Good luck with whatever you decide. Keep us updated on your progress

 

I HAD A 02 GSXR 600 AND I WASNT EVEN GOOD AND COULD BRING IT UP IN THIRD ON THE FREEWAY AND RIDE FOR A GOOOOOOOD WHILE ITS DEFINTLY YOU NOT THE BIKE NOT TO BE HARSH....YOU JUST NEED PRACTICE START OFF WITH SECOND GEAR STAND-UPS PRACTICE BOUNCING AND CLUTCHING IT UP START OFF WITH LOWER RPMS AND WORK YOUR WAY UP......SORRY NOT VERY DETAILED ADVICE....IM NO TEACHER BUT THE GSXR 600 IS DEFINTLY CAPABLE!

From my own experiance,,, don't sell your bike. If you get something different your gonna have to re-learn everything It will take you much longer to get em down. I made that mistake years ago when I got my 954. I kept blaming my old bike for not stunting well. So I got something with an ***-load more power. It took me another year to get comfortable enough to really control it well.

Stick it out with what you have until it's imprinted into your head. Once you feel in total control of your tricks then getting a new ride won't matter all that much but when your trying to get to that point,,, trading your bike is one of the worst things you can do.

 

I had an 03 600 and then an 01 750 GSXR. The 6 hundo I could barely wheelie. It was my first street bike, so what did I really expect. The 750 I bought cash and rocked that thing out for days, but when I tried to slow it down it was extremely unforgiving. Then I put a +6 on it and it made it that much worse. I just picked up three Honda 900's, a 94 with +11, a 98 with something like + 18 or 20 and a stock 99.

Point blank, I am still learning but carb vs FI bikes have major differences. I wasted last year fighting my 750 but had a buttload of fun while trying. If you really want to progress, get an older tank like a 900 to get your foundation down. Then, when you are good, you can jump on anything, like a GSXR 6 or the now infamous F4i's to rock out for days.

I haved raced motocross since i was five. And have been to several different schools on riding techniques. So yes i am knew to street bikes but i know how to load the suspension and clutch wheelies. I have found the balancing point. I can walk my yz 125 in pretty much any gear. It just feels like the gsxr is underpowered. It was a guy i knows race bike and i got it for 2000 grand. This is the only street bike i have ever ridin hard and i don't know what it is suposed to do or not. What i am getting at is i am not just some body that just decided to get a bike and do all the stunt and had never ridden a motorcycle in there lives. But thanks for the feed back. I will probably by a bigger rear sprocket and try some more.
