Re: handle bar conversion

stupid question, but why dirt bars rather than clip-ons? what is the advantage? clearance? durability?

Re: handle bar conversion

the bar comes with some risers. u will have to drill into ur clamp....we just took them off my bros f4i. the guy had welded a set of risers to that clamp.

make me an offer. they are brand new, the bike ahs never been ridden with them on, they were uncomfortable for my bro.

I'll tell you this those bars are a miracle, why do you think all the european riders use them?? I have them on my 900rr, the best way to go is to get the custom made triple clamp. You should NOT drill your stock triple cause it wasn't made for that purpose, it will be a weak setup and eventually break. A custom made one from lsl is reinforced underneath and made to take the pressure in that spot. It will cost you more but go for a custom made one the best price i have found is at www.fullthrottleinc.net they got them for $225

I was pretty much 12 my bike last year i actually looped it on the highway cause i was pretty much 12 at like a 100km/h for a while but learning the basics in wheeling and endos; these handlebars are the way to go The bars i went with are some good strong Renthal bars you can pick the height and width and the survived the crash very well from 100km/h sliding to a stop. I just went out this year the first time and started 12 it cause it so nice to control, well worth every penny.

Re: handle bar conversion

drilled triple and put DB bars on a few weeks ago...won't go back unless I can get super tall and wide clip-ons!!!! Was kind of a pain to get them to fit and keep my upper on, but got it done! also your brakelines and/or clutch cable MAY need to be longer, another 1/4" and I would have had to get new brakelines!

I have 2 stock triples that are drilled, A 900, and an F3. I never had a problem with the stock triples. Ive dumped the bike hard hundreds of times, and I have renthal twinwall bars which dont bend, and transfer the force of the impact to the bar clamps and triple. Only had one thing break... the threads got stripped out of the left bar clamp, the 2 small bolts that clamp the bar down.

Its a $50 project, dont go spending 200 on it. Use thick bolts, and large washers to dissipate the stress.

triple 5 stunt was right. i had order some bullshit clamp through motoheaven and the damn thing dont fit my gixxer. do not drill a whole because your triple tree is not made for that and it is too weak it will crack like mine did. i just order my clamp from full throttle today and i will receive it 2morrow...a little costly but ill pay xtra for my safety

I have a full throttle triple on my F4i. I'll never go back to clipons. If mx bars are really the way you want to go. Get a hold of Bill. He will take care of you. Customer service is what he is all about and his products are like no other.

i didnt know where everyone is doing front end conversions it might cause a clearance issue with the tank or something or maybe if someone was to have their balance point welded to the tank for stoppies it would get in the way?
