2003 gsxr750 valve adjustment
Re: 2003 gsxr750 valve adjustment
buy a manual off ebay. You can usually get the ones on cd for 3-5 bucks. Then go buy a decent set of metric feeler gauges. If any valves are out of spec you have to pull the cams, take out the bucket and swap the shim for a thicker one. Some shops will just trade you the shim you need for your old one. And dont worry about centering the specs. NOBODY does that except serious racers. As long as it is in the spec range it is good unless it is at the very very bottom of the spec.

Sup B-Rad, Hey its for my 750 it has about 12000 miles on it already. The cam chain and tensioner seem fine. I took it to this guy down here, he said it might be that or I need a valve adjustment, and yea a friend of mine has the manual, we're gonna check it out 2day. There's a lil tapping noise, the tapping noise happens in neutral when u accelerate and of course when in gear riding. we know its not the motor, but it sounds like it might be coming from the valves, I dunno. Also any chance of it being the water pump? I was going to call u but I didn't have my other cell with your number on it, so I'll prolly be calling u later.
