NO GLOVES! Have fun when you can't wipe ur own **** or hold and/or open ur own beer for two to three weeks.......been their, done that, and never have felt so stupid. Why would you not wear gloves anyway, especialy when you can't feel the controls......in that case you should wear gloves (or get better ones) so you will get used to them. Or you can do what I did and learn the hard way...ur choice

Re: Need advice, learnin to wheelie

you need to get use to wearing gloves no matter what.

there are two kinds of motorcycle riders. riders that have wrecked and riders that are going to wreck. so plan on going down sooner or later.

-dont sit back on the seat. use your reg. riding position.
-try roll on stand ups in second gear first so you can feel how the bike
reacts in a wheelie.
-when you feel confortable doin that, then start clutching it up . take baby steps.

Re: Need advice, learnin to wheelie

yea i used to have some dirtbike gloves that I loved cuz they were so flexible, but I lost one of them.

I did buy some sugo gloves from walmart last night lol, im gonna get some Gloves that cover the wrists in the next week or two....

Patrick - yea i feel alot more comfortable in the normal riding position pulling it up then sitting back in the seat....

roll on standups in 2nd...how fast should I be going u think on a stock 954 (should be same as ur 929when it was stock)....when i just pop them up in 1st im going like 20-25mph.....do you think a 1st gear rolling standup would be a bad idea?

rolling standup is you stand up as the bike is coming up correct? on my old ninja i stood up then i powered it up and it came up really high, scared me lol....dont think that is what you are talking about tho

off to go bum humping....

Re: Need advice, learnin to wheelie

clutch, throttle ur decision. Im new to stunting too man and whats worse Im in NY and i cant practice now. But I plan on goin out into a wide wide open lot and just play with my speed, RPMs, and clutch till i find it. I pull a squidish move but it helps, ride around standing with ur feet on the rear pegs like u gonna do a stand up...i dunno makes me get used to it if i ride around like that for a little almost like taking baby steps.

No gloves? come on now $30 i got A-Star SM-X1s and they r pimp. I also got a pair of SM-X Air Carbons pretty **** as well. gloves are worth their weight in gold...well thats not much so we'll say platinum son!

i used to ride with my left foot on my rear peg when I was wanting to learn staggered wheelies on my old ninja. I got pretty comftorable with the position, i could take corners and everything....im sure me and you arent the only ones who have done that

Re: Need advice, learnin to wheelie

my best advice is....

take it slow.... i had a close call whe i was first learning.... my friend told me i had the bike at like 11:30 and at the time you couldnt tell me what a rear brake was... so take it slow and learn the brake, theres a good chance it could save your ***.

Re: Need advice, learnin to wheelie

dont worry about anything on your bike. the 2 best tips ive ever got for learning stuff were "dont be a ***** and just do it" and "have fun" im not jokeing in any way. i couldnt do wheelies a couple years ago and i asked the guy i looked up to what was wrong with me and my bike and all the questions you asking. he told me not to be a ***** and just do it. a week later i was rocken em. your bikes fine, your style is yours, its just saddle time
