brake pad ?

somehow i cracked my left fork, it has about a 5 inch crack down the lower part...this spewed fork oil all over my rotors and pads and the rest of my bike, my pops is swapping the lower part of the forks out while i fix a few minor problems ive had since ive been riding it; i dont have anywhere near the stopping power after using an entire can of carb cleaner trying to clean off the rotors, so apparently i have oil still on the pads...is there anything i can do to get it off, i pulled em off and used another can of carb cleaner spraying the **** off of them and they look normal and dont feel any oil on them

will i still not have the stopping power to do endos? what else should i do to them?

buy a can of simple green. That's what the dude up at the bike shop said, says it doesn't leave any kind of film or something....

it's worth a shot right?

Re: brake pad ?

Get New Ones. But, If You Sell Dope And Support Three Different Baby-momma's You Can Scuff The Pads On The Concrete And It Could Possibly Clean Them Up Good Enough To Get You By.

Re: brake pad ?

those pads soak up fork oil. If you do not change those pads you will ruin your rotors in a couple hours of stoppie practice. Change the damn pads, they arent expensive.

Re: brake pad ?

sand the face of the pad and clean it with brake cleaner then you should have some stopping power. if you want to be able to do stoppies you will need to get new pads cause those pads arnt any good now. and dont ever use any degeasers to clean your pads cause they are oil based, and will only make things worst.
