Stunt Video Burning...

OK, I know this probably isn't the right place for this, but it will get the most attention here. I'm headed to iraq in a couple weeks and I want to bring dvd's and videos with me to keep me entertained while I'm not being shot at. I bought an HP external DVD burner with hopes of borrowing friends dvd's and burning them to take with me. Every time I try to burn one, it says I can't copy it cause it's protected. Does anyone know a way around this?

Question number two is... I'm also trying to burn these bitchin stunt video's I've downloaded from stuntlife so that I can watch them on my portable dvd player. I made one cd by just sending the .wmv files to my cd burner. When I put it in my dvd player all I got was audio. I figured that would happen but was hoping for the best. Then I tried making a data cd with the dvd burner. But neither the dvd player nor my computer can read the disk.

So, Does anyone know how to change the type of file from .wmv to a type that would be compatable to a dvd player? I tried right clicking on it and resaving it as a different kind of file but when I right click on it there's no option to save. can anybody help me out? Or am I gonna have to go through and redownload and save all these video's in somethin like an .avi format?

Thanks for the help.

Re: Stunt Video Burning...

You need dvd burning software. Try roxio. Dvd xcopy was the best but now they're banned.

To watch clips you downloaded on a dvd player burn them in VCD format. If you have nero burning software you can make a vcd pretty easy.

Re: Stunt Video Burning...

I tried to change the format but couldn't figure it out... any tips?
Also, It came with software for the dvd burner. But every time I try to burn an original dvd, it says I can't because it's copywrited. Any way around that or am I sol?

Oh, and I'm downloading movies that are for Divx. Anyone know a good place to download the codec that doesn't have an assload of spyware and adware? Thanks!

It's copywrited for a reason... People who make them might not be happy you are on here asking how to rip them off?

Re: Stunt Video Burning...

They're not mine. I borrowed movies from my roommate and friends to try and burn them and take them with me so I don't have to pay 15 bucks a piece for them. I was hoping it would be a little easier to do it. I understand they're copywrited for a reason... so people like me can't do that and have to buy them. I was just hoping somebody would know a way around that. If it's not possible, it's not the end of the world.

BUT, is there any way to burn the movies and south park episodes I've downloaded to a cd so they don't take up all my hard drive space? Thanks for helping the computer retard!

Re: Stunt Video Burning...

Thanks guys. Got nero and the whole dvd x copy thing. From non other than Mr. FHL. Dude was helpful as hell. Appreciate it man! Takes about 2 and a half hours for the whole shabang but it's worth it for a free movie. and it's for a good cause. Keeping soldiers entertained in the desert is worth a little "borrowed" movie if you ask me. Thanks all!

Re: Stunt Video Burning...

It shouldn't take that long to burn. No more than 40 min.

If its possible post up an address where you can be sent stuff. Maybe some peeps would be kind enough to send a care package. Since our lazy asses are eating fast food and generally f*ign off, while this kid is protecting our right to do so. I have a few vids that I'm watched enough and can do with out. Its $20...

Re: Stunt Video Burning...

I'm not burning stunt vids. Just the teasers and trailers that I've Downloaded from stuntlife. I have no problem ripping movies off of multi-billion dollar companies. That doesn't bother me. But I wouldn't do it to aspiring stunt teams who are trying to make a living with their riding. As far as sending me video's you're all more than welcome to do so haha. I'm a broke *** college kid who joined the reserves to get money for school... and so far all I've done is get deployed. I'll be finished with my contract 5 months after I get back. So I joined the army for one free semester of school. YAY. At least I got to see a better chunk of the world.
