Used a rubber mallet on mine. Just start around the gas cap and work your way out. Mine came out pretty nice.

ok, first thing you do is get on the left side of the bike, next you kick the ****er over as hard as you can, then you proceed to stomp the tank with some doc martins till you get a nice dent started, pick the bike up and go out and do an *** load of tank spreaders and high chairs with a half empty tank, all done and dented to fit your ***.....mmmmmm just like sitting in your own personal chair....

send it to Keith "PawPaw" Buesing with Code Blue Stunt Team. He's done all my tanks, new, old, and even fixed some that were creased.

Who says a plumber's not good to have around, lol.

I took a rubber mallet. dented all the way around the gas cap, just make your way around slow and you won't get creases. Then stand on it and push the cap in, one big pop and my hole cap and center went in a made a nice bowl...

bsicly when you dent it the way i did, the way alot of people do it cups around your ***, no creases nailing you in the tail bone, seeing as how im only 148 lbs, i fit right inside that dent, that was the 900rr, i dont have that bike anymore, i had to do it all over again with my zx6r, jut dont have pics of that tank.

i just did my second tank and i ****ed it up again this time i used a plastic like rubber mallet and still not right i have a 99 R6 the tank comes with a design shape so to speak and when i was done there where creases where the design shape was it looks wack so i just slapped grip tape over it , it still looks like a shotie job, my first one made cracks in the tank and gas started sprayin all over me when i wheelie
