Need a little rolling burnout help.
Need a little rolling burnout help.
I've never really tried rolling burnouts till recently. I've been trying them both from a roll and poping the clutch to get the rear spinning, and from starting at a standstill and trying to ease off the brake. So far i keep getting the same results. It will spin for a few feet then the front tire will lift a bit and start to take off on me so i left off. Any advice, more throttle? Less brake? Should i keep trying them for a roll or standstill?
Re: Need a little rolling burnout help.
First of all how the hell are you doin seat standers and not doin burnouts...LOL!
Make sure your body position is so you are putting some weight OVER the front end, start by rolling already, give it a little brake and gas while your compressing the front end, anbit more gas at that piont then you will break traction in the rear.
At that time ,very little input from the controls, keep it strait, slow and controled then after you got that on lock start making circles.
Go in the dumpsters behind bike shops and load up on used tires for this, because its a lot of fun, and make sure you getcha a 905 cage on that bitch cause you will drop it plenty of times!
Good LUCK

Re: Need a little rolling burnout help.
heard that on the tires and 905 cage, but one thing that ****ed me up before is if your front wheel starts to slide out LET GO of the front brake of that ****'ll come right out from under you if it gets sideways sliding.
Re: Need a little rolling burnout help.
yeah covering the clutch really helps, but on accident ive pulled the clutch in but still had the throttle and front brake pinned and when the motor revved up it freak me out and i let the clutch go..instant wheelie...haha

So I shouldn't be using the clutch then? Just give it gas till it breaks loose? Re: Need a little rolling burnout help.
your givin it gas,and front brakes, at the same time the front end is compressing your slipping the clutch just enough to break traction in the rear.
sorry, its tough to explain really good, you gotta feel it, just make sure to not give it full gas and wear a helmet!

Re: Need a little rolling burnout help.
rolling burnouts is one of those trick that just takes time and practice, and alot of tires. but when you get the hang of it, its very addicting. be safe
Re: Need a little rolling burnout help.
I went out and practiced a little today, was gettin em a little better. I think one problem i have is not giving it enough gas, the rpms start to drop and thats when the tire hooks up and the bike jumps forward. Another thing is the rear started to swing out to the sides usually, it couldn't keep it going in a straight line. Any advice for this? Should i just counter steer. I'm trying to keep my weight forward so i'm standing on the front pegs with my crotch over the tank, makes it a little hard to steer.
Re: Need a little rolling burnout help.

Re: Need a little rolling burnout help.
Whatever you do Please Don't roll burnouts on sealed / recently sealed pavement slipery!!! especially if your front tire is cold. [ parking lots etc. ] your front tire can break loose dude and things could get ugly. Trust me I learned the hard way ! If anybody has any comments about burnouts on sealed pavement please post.
