Whats your approach on trying to get a new lot
Whats your approach on trying to get a new lot
Whats your guys approach to trying to get a new lot to ride. We are trying to find a new lot to ride. We're trying to come up with a good interesting point to where the property owner will take a moment to hear what we have to say and not when they here the word motorcycle they instantly say no..
What are some of the things you guys say when asking permission?
any ideas will be great. I allready have waivers and the ohio recreational use statue printed out with permission slips also.. just need them to sign them damn it!

Re: Whats your approach on trying to get a new lot
i have tried talking to a few places all that are still in negotiations.
I always start off with
1) introduceing myself and a little background
2) then say im interested in a safe area to practice my "hobby"
3) then say why i you like the lot and why it could benefit everyone
4) then talk about how you practice controlled motorcycle maneuvers aka stunting...just leave it at that unless they want to go more into what that is.
5) explain liability waiver then say that you would like to use their lot
asked a bishop at a moron church, he liked it but said he wasnt the owner and i would need to ask the owners through a letter.
another place they would let me but didnt have the power to sign since they were not the owners also.

Re: Whats your approach on trying to get a new lot
find a nice lot, away from high traffic area's...
get a quiet exhaust
only go when they are closed
dont do burnouts
dont tell anyone where it is
Do all that and usually you will never have a problem.

Re: Whats your approach on trying to get a new lot
it's hard to get written permission unless you have a personal relationship with the owner and even then they are always worried about liability issues , ride when no one is there and dont leave a mess

The liability route is what all of them throw up. We have cones and tape and we use our trucks to block off a area.
I start off saying we are a local group looking for a practice area for motor cycle acrobatics lol I also say that we would like to do it in a controlled environment with out the risk of endangering other people. Then the conversion moves from there. But as soon as they hear motorcycle they automatically go in to selective hearing and dont completely hear us out. We do have a few police officers wanting us to get off the streets. So that helps in some of the conversations. We do have stock exhausts and we dont do burn outs. Its coming down to doing night sessions. So hopefully something comes through and we have a place to ride. If not were gonna have no other choice then to go to the out skirts of town on a road which i rather not happen.
Re: Whats your approach on trying to get a new lot
do u live in a city .. cause i can go to places around me in broad day and have no problems .. i guess it cause cops around me have more important shyt to worry about
that again i usually ride alone but good luck

Re: Whats your approach on trying to get a new lot
Yea i live in a city. Places around here are up tight about there public image and dont want some person on there lot riding a motorcycle dong "wheelies". But i think our plan of attack now is doing night sessions were going to wait til it gets dark and go to places. Most of the lots have lighting and there is a good part of them that has a hidden part to them where its hard to see someone but lite enough for us to ride. So its going to be interesting on how this will pan out.
Re: Whats your approach on trying to get a new lot
asking permission, is asking for rejection.
Don't ask, just go ride, hope you don't get kicked out!
Even if you get permission at first, soon as the owner talks to some friends, other business owners, or his attorney, he will find out that he can be held liable if anyone gets hurt.
Every single place I got permission at, we got shut down a couple months later due to the person finding out they are liable. Waivers don't mean ****.
