in wheelie run out of rpms
Re: in wheelie run out of rpms
you will know when your at BP, it will feel weird as hell. feels like your bike goes weightless..
COVER THE REAR BRAKE. cant always rely on engine braking to bring the front back down once you start gettin there. Look through some of the other stunter's pics compared to yours, thatll kinda give you an idea of how much further you got. the slower you go, the further back BP is cause you dont have the wind holding you up. That really only applies at higher speeds, but def try and keep them as slow as possible. Going down at the top of first gear on stock gearing is no fun.

I am definitely not an expert, just learning myself, but one thing that has helped me was getting with some guys that know how do do this...AtlFreestyle. They were able to watch, give pointers, and even video me some to help me along. You watch them and then watch were you are and you realize how far you were from balance point.
I also started in 1st gear clutching it up and I started from around 10-15 mph and around 2500 rpm....this was on my 900rr. You will probably have to take the rpms a bit higher on the 600, but slower is easier for me. Just keep giving it more and more gas each time and clutching it up. Cover the rear brake and don't SLAM on the rear brake when you feel it getting too high, just ease on it a bit or you will slam that front end down HARD. You will get there. Just practice in a big lot with some folks that know what they are doing.

Re: in wheelie run out of rpms
I've been doing pretty good getting the bikes front wheel off the ground. Right now i'm riding them out all the way to redline. So my distance is dependent on my rpms. I'm in first gear powering them up. Wondering if i'm running out of rpms cause i'm not at the balance point yet or do I need to shift. I really think its cause i'm not at the balance point.
Re: in wheelie run out of rpms
sounds like you are comfortable with getting the front wheel off the ground. clutching it up is definitely the way to go. it brings up the front much faster so you can hit bp at a slower speed.

Re: in wheelie run out of rpms
dude his front end is a foot off the ground, how the hell is that really close to balance point?
im not hating on DeathDealer, thats all cool, hes learning. but bruno, your just a ****** retard
Re: in wheelie run out of rpms
Ill back you up on this one.. I wouldent even consider that a pow pow wheelieBut DeathD. Keep tryin . youll get it. Not sayin you suck just that dude was wrong to tell you that your close to BP.
Re: in wheelie run out of rpms
wow. I haven't checked this thread for a while. the pic in the avater is some newer ****. And yes i've moved to clutching up. Love it alot. don't think i'll ever go back to power up. been working on stand up and staggered.
Stand up and staggered makes useing the rear brake kinda of weird. But like you guys say more seat time and I'll get use to it. Thanks for all the help

I think we started around the same time, well, at least I'm new. I've started clutching since the beginning(a month ago), from what I've read in these and other forums has helped. I'm able to get up in first and ride out all the way to redline about 50% of the time. I've tried a bunch in 2nd but I've only been able to get the bike to come up real high once(i got scarred and backed off), I'm trying the progressive ****, meaning starting slower and clutching it at lower rpms first and increasing them slowly.
how has it been going with standing and staggered? which do you think is better?
Re: in wheelie run out of rpms
I like staggered. at first it was really weird but I did it over and over again for an hour and i've been getting use to it. Also you can use your weight to bring the bike back further faster. just got to get use to the rear brake its alot farther away from your foot.
I've tried clutching them up in 2nd but it doesn't work for me. Probably doing something wrong and i'm not really trying to work on that. More interested in staying at the blance point in 1st. I stay in front of the blance point instead of behind it were i should be.
