you can do it anyway that gets the job done, whether you use an *** a foot or a hammer its only the time you put into it that makes the job come out good, if you rush it then its gonna look ****. if you take your time and plan it out then it will come out mint

look inside ur tank first and make sure ur not going to crunch any baffles or push on you fuel pump then try it with a mallet or a phone book and a weight
