Learning the Rear Brake!
Re: Learning the Rear Brake!
method 1:
1st gear
depress rear brake a little so you know your on it and hold.
roll between 10-15mph.
clutch up and hold gas till near BP. Since your already dragging the brake (just a little, so your brain knows its there), then fluctuate between gas n brake, keep bringing the bike higher till she starts to slow down. Once you get good you can just tap the brake while holding the gas constant. This method can create brake fade so check your brake before each clutch up and watch for glowing rotors. If you get a stainless steel line and +500 degree brake fluid your chances of brake fading decrease.
method 2: clutch up and use brake to come down, no throttle. Do this 100 times till your brain knows how to bring the bike down from brake alone not throttle

Re: Learning the Rear Brake!
Before you pop it up think to yourself "rear brake rear brake rear brake" and at the end of your wheelie instead of letting go of hte throttle to bring it down. Press the rear brake enough to bring the wheelie down while still being on the gas. This will help you understand how much brake your going to need an also help it become second nature.
Man I wish I knew about so much of this **** when I started stunting. I don't think anyone told me about rear brake till a couple of months after I started stunting.
An wait what? 15-20mph wheelies fast? haha

Re: Learning the Rear Brake!
^^^been trying that i also tried ridding brake and hitting it harder when i get to bp but when i do that i juyst chase it
when i dont ride it i hit bp and for some reason just let off gas and dont even use rear brake.
why wont my brain let the foot do the work?

Re: Learning the Rear Brake!
Riding the brake and pressing it harder at bp? I never ride my brake for wheelies though I do press the pedal a little to kill the slack between on and off. Mostly only use the brake if it goes back to much (past bp) or if purposely bringing it past bp. Riding it all the time will probably cook your brakes. Though lets see what some other more experienced riders have to say about this. I'm still a newb. O_o
Re: Learning the Rear Brake!
no i was just doing that to try to get the feel for this bike. its nothing like my r1
ive only rode it like 4 times since thursday but i can now ride out wheelies getting in and out of bp in first and ride them out decently in 2nd 50/50 in bp
i was only doing that to try to get the feel. it doesnt matter i still cant make myself do use it. im about to tie my foot to it so i can go in first and scrape this thing
