Stoppie Technique

aight so i can do stoppies quite well i can roll them out sometimes over 100 feet if i hit them perfect, i'm having a problem with them tho, when i grab for brake and get the back up it instantly whips sideways probly 6 or 7 out of 10 times. my buddy told me to stiffen my gpr all the way to the 8th click but i dont want it to whip out and come down sideways then wip me off cuz i wont be able to turn the bars back. any pointers on what i might be able to do to get them to come straight up everytime, i never see guys on videos going sideways they always seem to be perfect, i have very good brake control just need a little help i guess. i'm not afraid to do them from 80 and roll them out i just wanna make sure it comes up straight so i can confidently carry them as far as possible.

Re: Stoppie Technique

gotta get it up high enough right away to where you can steer it from side to side with your arms...
the picture in your avatar is not high enough

got a leaky fork seal? are the settings the same on both forks? I knew guy a few years ago that had a leaking fork seal and the bike would drift to the laeking side every time no matter what he did to stop it.

Re: Stoppie Technique

i had the same problem the trick is to snap that bitch up high and quick because when the bike is in a power stoppie it is real hard to keep it straight

Re: Stoppie Technique

oh yea and what else helped me was to roll them next to some one who was alredy good at them

we would pick it up at the same time and i would slow way the hell down and he [nick] would seem to speed up comparitivly speaking

so i had to pick it up quicker to not slow down so much and beleive it or not i went straight when i wasn't thinking about it

Re: Stoppie Technique

might sound obvious but when you grab the brake your either putting too much pressure on one grip try to even it out

Re: Stoppie Technique

heres what you do in this case. if the back end goes to the right push on the right bar if it goes to the left push on the left bar. it wii straitin the back end up. other than that to roll and not have that happen every time. ****** that bitch up and roll. just dont play the on off on off games i play. it gets nasty to quick
