Running a 2-stroke in reverse

Hey, how do I run a 2-stroke engine in reverse? Is it just a matter of flipping the puller so you pull-start it backwards?

Any help appreciated.

Re: Running a 2-stroke in reverse

Re: Running a 2-stroke in reverse

if the timing is set at 8 degrees advanced then you would have to retard it 16 degrees ...
and it must not be the type that has mechanical advance or it will be retarding it self while in reverse

No I just have a small 5 hp 2-stroker that my friend gave me. I'd like to see if I can get it to run backwards!
