Shifting from first to second? should i clutch?

have been trying to learn to shift to second. and what i have been doing is trying to hit the BP and then clutch in and shift to second.. but everytime i clutch I drop..

Re: Shifting from first to second? should i clutch?

dont use the clutch get it up in first and as you feel it going down use all the left over power you got to get you high to balance point and change to 2nd without just wack it in and put the power on so my advice get it high enough and dont use clutch

Re: Shifting from first to second? should i clutch?

nah just keep it in first and bring it back past bp and slow it down so you don't need to go into second.... you shouldn't be learning on any kind of road where you need to go that fast anyway

btw standups are much easier to learn than sitdowns.... read the sticky thread in the help how to section... the basic guide for learning wheelies

Re: Shifting from first to second? should i clutch?

once you get it down smooth with no clutch, start tryin to use the clutch, cause when you start tryin to shift from 2nd to 1st, you're gonna have to use it

always use the clutch when going from first to second or just start saving up money now for the repair bill

learn to whoolie the safe way then you won't even be asking these questions.

Oh and your not at BP or else that front end wouldn't be falling when you pull in the clutch.
