Just stay on the gas. It's all mental. Believe me. If you really have that much pressure on your left hand though.. Then you aren't balanced. Get it higher and stay on the gas

All mental!
Just pull it up and pull your hand away, you shouldn't have much pressure on your hands, and just let it float off!

yeah what he said.
Remember when you let go with the left hand you are no longer pulling the bike up. so you have to stay on the throttle.

BEFORE TRING TO PULL YOUR HAND OFF TRY HONKING YOUR HORN IN A REITHEM. AND AT NIGHT FLASHING YOUR HEAD LIGHT.THIS WILL HELP YOU WHEELIE LONGER AND BE MORE STEADY WITH YOUR THROTTLE HAND. THEN TRY LOOKING SIDE TO SIDE. THEN THE HAND TRICK SEEMS A LOT EASIER TO LEARN...
HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE........

Why not try them in 1st gear? I had a lot easier time pulling my hand of in first before I ever tried 2nd. Now I just pull them up with one hand off.
