sliping the clutch?

Sorry for another noob post but, I was wondering what exactly would sliping the clutch be. The way I have been trying is what it said in the sticky. I know im just getting scared and not bringing the rpm's high enough and im choping the throtle also. Ive read a few post that has said slip the clutch dont just dump it. So I was wondering exactly what the difference is. OR is that just while your letting the clutch out? thanks

slipping the clutch, aka clutching it up In squid terms is where you push the cluch in rev it up and pop off it fast. This gives a sudden rush of power to that wheel causing the front end to pick up.

If your having isssues picking it up, just keep giving it more gas. Scoot back in your seat, Dont look at the tach though, youll never be able to focus.Just work on learning the sound and youll start to consistantly pick it up the same over and over.

Once you can get even a bunny hop consistantly the same height (doesnt have to be real tall to begin with) you can work on takeing it higher, and longer.

The reason I suggest you work on takeing it the same height at first this gets you familiar with the ammount of gas imput required and you can learn how do nice safe accurate wheelies.

Ive been doing this for about 3 months, I went from barely being able to crest the ground, to riding the whole 1/4 mile of my favorite practive street and picking up 2nd and riding down the interstate while always safely planting it down.

Re: sliping the clutch?

I can get it about 1 foot off the ground but cant hold it. But I was doing it pretty much every time. I wont be able to try any more because During a group ride saturday I had a truck run me off the road on purpose. The bike isnt in to bad of condition, just the tail section cracked some scratches and the right fairing cracked also. I was thinking once my leg gets better im going to be buying some stunting parts and mabey that will help me feel more confertable.
