help bringing up 2nd.

i can bring up first with and without clutch. 2nd i can do somtimes if i sit far back enough. i'd like to be able to do a 2nd gear wheelie without clutching it up. im sure i'll need to practice donig standups more in first since i can mainly just do sit downs right now. but my main question is this.... when i try to bounce up 2nd i get a lot of shake from the handle bars. like im pulling up the right side from the throttle too hard. any idea what im doing wrong. the front seems to come up for a second then it just shakes a lot and scares the u know what out of me. i mainly just stick to doing first gear sit downs for now, and spend a lot of time practicing. but then again i dont want to wreck it.

Re: help bringing up 2nd.

if im reading right your saying that your pulling up on the bars, you shouldnt really pull. its more of a push down to load the suspention then as there rebounding do a little throttle on and off and it should come up no prob. (by the way its so much easyer and more controlable to clutch it up) but i know back when i had my f4i i started out bouching it up in second then started doing 3rd gear standups at 70 by boucing and a little cluch. just take your time learning so you dont eat ****. and its way easyer do do a stand up with your left foot on the passenger peg IMO.

thanks guys, i can do clutch but like i said it isnt that easy. and also im sure it's harder to do a clutch while standing. my goal is to be able to do stand up's. i'll just keep practicing.

My friend has the exact same bike. He rides in 2nd gear. Hits the throttle to get the front end to lift slightly, slacks the throttle briefly to compress the front and hit the throttle again to pop it up. This is sit-downs BTW. Takes practice though to get the technique.

yea, i've tried to bounce it up but it just wont do it like that with the throttle. maybe a little for like 20 yards but nothing like a high wheelie. plus i have to be doing like 70 in order to do it that way.

Re: help bringing up 2nd.

i got an 06 600rr n ive just learned how to get it up in 2nd recently. i had that same wobble problem at first too. i stand staggered, do about 35mph n give it a little bounce n some cluch action around 7000rpm n it will jump to bp. i was doing a lot of power wheelies b4 but once i learned to clutch correctly it makes wheelies much smoother

p.s. once i put the pc on to load a custom map it helped me get that front wheel up a LOT easier
