Fast Or Slow Wheelies When Learning
Fast Or Slow Wheelies When Learning
Just wanted to start a thread to get some input on what you guys think is faster to pick up.
and if there is any up side to learning one before the other.
i've been trying to pick up the slow stuff, not lots of luck
i'm taking the slow bike out after work to day (i'm going to get this ****)
as for the fast stuff it seems to come to me a lot faster, but with alot more risk.
hwy wheelies starting to hit BP but not able to stay there. is there a speed or RPM your looking for to keep it in BP? (aka sweet spot)
any tips or pointer would be great.

Re: Fast Or Slow Wheelies When Learning
highway is always easier cuz you dont need bp to stay up longer... the wind and acceleration keeps you up and makes you think you are at bp but youre not...
kane did a really good post on this but i can remember where it is..
stick to 2nd gear at slower speeds like around 40 when you get that down try first gear...
throttle gets more and more twitchy the slower and lower gears you go...thats why i think its easier to get the basic idea going faster
stay away from the 80+ until you get some skills and your mother will thank you..

it just seems to come a litte faster.
but i'm going to spend a couple of hours tonight on the slow bike
and try to make some progress
Re: Fast Or Slow Wheelies When Learning
highway is easier..... i could ride a wheelie on the freeway for miles.... but sucked at slow ****... started gettin it down real slow then i totaled my bike...
Re: Fast Or Slow Wheelies When Learning
ride one bike and get used to that bike using 2 different ones starting out is just gonna make it harder and I preferre slow because the wrecks dont take you on as long of a ride down the pavement
Re: Fast Or Slow Wheelies When Learning
SLow wheelies are a lot harder to learn just take your time... keep practice every day... i practice it with a stock geared Gsx-r 1000 k6 .... very agressive but it's better than nothing

Re: Fast Or Slow Wheelies When Learning
well any time you have a suzuki up thier not getting any oil so I would say yes it wouldnt hurt and by pass your crankcase vent it will leak oil in you air box if you set it on tweleve to long and they do smoke like a b i t c h once that happens
Re: Fast Or Slow Wheelies When Learning
yeah, um. the motor's still getting oil when you're on the back tire. when you take it up to and past 12, then the pickup helps a lot.
why do you have a bike for the lot already when you can't ride bp on the street? put stock gears on the "slow" bike and learn on that.

did learn alot about how high i needed to be, thought i was getting it up till i took the 92 out and really stood it up there @ 12, after that started riding nice wheelies on the 04 the next time outstock gears to learn slow stuff or or just to pick up BP for HW stuff?
