Are you clutching 1st too? If so then get those 1st gears higher. Learn that rear brake. Once you get the brake down and can safely use it, your chances of crashing decrease substantially.
Re: 954 clutching 2nd
use the first and clutch it up at walking pace. doesn't need too much throttle and it will raise, then just find the balance and drive.
don't use second, there is too much speed involved

Re: 954 clutching 2nd
The bike comes up fine in 1st off the throttle pretty consistantly. From some of the info I gathered elsewhere alot of people were saying to clutch up in 2nd around 40 mph and find bp from there.
Re: 954 clutching 2nd
I was assuming you were clutching it in first. powering it is twitchy cause you're way high in the revs. clutch it in first at about 15mph, that way you'll be lower in the revs and it'll be smoother.....also, stand up staggered and give a good bounce. read the wheelie guide thread Complete guide for learning basic wheelies the right way
Re: 954 clutching 2nd
I agree with learning 1st first, but 2nd is fun also......
Clutching 2nd is easy.....get going about 50mph, pull in the clutch and let it out around at 8000rpm and when you let out the clutch keep giving it more gas......DON"T let off the throttle, twist iy open and give it more.....and up she will go.
