oil light at stoppies?

I just got a '94 900rr like a week ago, and I overfilled 1/4 of oil not to starve on rear wheel, but when doing stoppies the oil light comes on and than turns off after a second or two when I set it down. Is this normal for this year/model? I'm guessing the pickup is more at back if the light turns on, but also heard overfilling 1/4 of oil is good for resolving oil starvation. What do you say?

well the motors not under a load so its not TOO bad but you can put way more than 1/4 qt in it.. I got a full qt over in my 600, just check the oil make sure its not getting aerated with the extra oil. Ive been running a full qt over for years with no problems

I didn't say I put 1/4 of a quarter, I said I put 1/4 which eaquals 1 quarter if I'm not mistaken

@crthchshr (lol): I sold that bike in '04, after that stunted few borrowed bikes and one SM of mine for short period of time, and haven't stunted exactly for a year now. I'm sooo rusty I can't believe it...

1/4 of a quarter?1/4 definately=1/4.I think you mean you put 1QUART over right? If not that is what you should do.

Re: oil light at stoppies?

^^ martino's post says:

"you can put way more than 1/4 qt in it.. I got a full qt over in my 600"

so I think he misunderstood my initial post and I just explained that I did put a "full quarter" over, and not quarter of a quarter (1/4 qt as he wrote)...

maybe 1QUART is something different?

Re: oil light at stoppies?

I think when you are saying full Quarter you probably mean full quart. So you should be good to go with that.
