Re: How should I attempt 1st wheelie? Clutch or power?
do like i did....
start clutchin it up from about 10-15 mph. just short hops off the ground, maybe 3-4 inches to start. once you get used to that, go a lil higher, 1-2 feet maybe.
once your used to that, practice keeping the front end height the same and be extremely smooth on the throttle. your front end will only be about 2 feet off the ground, and you'll be accelerating fast, but if you can keep that semi-steady your in good shape.
now try clutchin higher and higher, when you think your starting to get near BP, put some pressure on the rearbrake. this'll make the throttle less repsonive, and make the front end come down quicker if you let off the throttle.
#1 PRACTICE PRACTCE PRACTICE!
if you really want brake control, get yourself a 50 or 125cc dirtbike, learn idle and coasters on that, and you'll start to get the brake reflex.

Practice that until you are ready to get into second gear and then you can learn clutch and back brake.

I just dont have enough practice with all the different stances in a wheelie yet... thats all there is too it, yeah i might be using a 12 bar right now for different reasons then you would. But it doesnt make either of us wrong
