How should I attempt 1st wheelie? Clutch or power?

my god.. gorilla scraping is NOT a stunt.. ppl always try to learn to scrape first.. learn idle first, and get good with brake, then everything else comes easy... well i don't wanna play with the clutch in circles.. i'm trying to learn every other trick possible before i start learning them..

i dont even know how to wheelie yet. but i think youre learning the wrong way
Re: How should I attempt 1st wheelie? Clutch or power?
slow motion makes everything look smooth.... what you need to do is not clutch it so hard.. and ease the brake on.. overpower it with gas, you'll realize everything then
oh,, and it's NOT a stunt cuz it takes NO talent... it's crashing.. that's not hard to do

Start with sit downs 1st gear power up after you have racked some sattle time until then don't try unless your geared up. I ride an f2 to stunt and a 929 everyday and can power them both in first and second its all about body english. Throw your wieght around!

Also any jack *** can do a power wheelie, nothing to it, just lean back.... and get over the fear of falling backwards.
believe me right now im learning to rock a wheelie on the BP in 1st gear.. way harder then powering in 2nd.... i couldnt count the number of times my 12 bar saved the bike tryin slow wheelies.

From what you wrote here I'm getting a feel that you don't know a first thing about riding in general, not to mention stunting. 12 bar IS NOT a "safety net" or whatever you wanna call it, it is not ment to protect the tail - it is produced for bar tricks! If you do what you claim to do as a procedure of scraping you would already be familliar with the term "corkscrew" or "flying bike spinning in air like crazy" from your own experience. It really doesn't take much practice to get the RB enough to control the height, but this is subjective so I'm not arguing over this. If you do not have "alot experience at the BP" how the hell do you make yourself go over - the human psyhology wouldn't let you - you could do it once, but that would be the last time you would attempt something like that until you learned RB control...
Re: How should I attempt 1st wheelie? Clutch or power?
yeah this is out of control..
anyways im glad a put a 12 bar on when trying to learn slow wheelies...i still slam the 12 bar now and agian when i change my body position coming up in 1st gear. I just dont have enough practice with all the different stances in a wheelie yet... thats all there is too it, yeah i might be using a 12 bar right now for different reasons then you would. But it doesnt make either of us wrong

Your R6 will power wheelie very easily in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear (ok 3rd you probably will have to bounce the forks.) In first all you gotta do is start from a stop, let go of the gas momentarily and whack the throttle half-way back open again, and the front end will come up.
Practice that until you are ready to get into second gear and then you can learn clutch and back brake.
