this site has a metric ****-ton of mods you can do to gixxers,
and the tre thing is explained in detail how to build your own for
about 25 cents, as opposed to buying one for 40 bucks

Dano did the Bugman's TRE Mod to my bike. I don't notice a difference really. The RPM's bump up a little when the switch is on, but that's it really, that I can tell.

+1 ... a tre is a timimg retardent eliminator...on the gsxr,

1. 1-4 gears are only allowed to have about half the full advance timing of the engine, the tre disables this, and lets it run full advance timing in ALL gears!!!

2. it takes off the 186 mph limit in 6th gear, so the bike will go as fast as the motor can push your fat *** thru the air that day

how does it do this? it just tells the computer that you are in 5th gear all the time...

so for stunting, not needed

i was stunting a gsxr 1000 with the tre mod. i noticed that my 1000 was smoother when i took it off, thanks ed 1000 and john legion. they told me to take it off and it helped a lot. but obviously not enough ... i'm on an f4i now. LOL

if your bike is bogging then i would suggest upping the sprocket on the back a few teeth.

Re: Anyone using a tre mod in thier gixxer?

if you are looking for more pep, the TRE wont help you. All it does is smooth out the throttle a little bit. I never saw that big of a difference on my 600 back in the day, but it made a lot of difference on the 750.
