Seat Stander coasters....

My style, I start off in 2nd gear (F4i w/60 tooth rear) in the sitdown position....kinda sitdown/staggared now because I broke my F'n front rearset, but anyway. From the sitdown I jump to SS, pull up and coast. Tried all that within an 80' approach last night and it wasn't working out so well. Kept running outta room or felt wobbly trying to coast at that approach (not seated well into position). What's everyone's average approach and how far are you rollin? Should I lengthen the approach or keep it short and just perfect it????

Re: Seat Stander coasters....

Yeah im rockin them for about 50 feet with an unlimited approach, including 3-4 accidental scrapes and a mousetrap at the end

Re: Seat Stander coasters....

def start it in 2nd gear and pull back just as you would with a normal coaster and ride it out hoping not to die , the faster you go the smoother it gets but if you fu*k up at that speed you soon eat *** !

Re: Seat Stander coasters....

You're just learnin them in the SS position, so why limit yourself to a certain approach right now? Just get them down and be comfortable with it first, then work on the limited approach... Better safe than sorry right.

Re: Seat Stander coasters....

I've already gotten them down without checking my approach. Doing around 200-250 footers...guessing around a 200' approach, but don't know. Just wondering what everyone uses for their approach.

Re: Seat Stander coasters....

ive been working on short approach latley(50') or so and going 250'+ but im running out of space at our spot.i want to go to a bigger spot to see what i can roll.then i want to see what i can do on spreader and h/c,i already use a pretty short approach for those but only go about 100'.if you want to make them real intresting bang the revlimiter the whole time but beware for your safety and your motor or just turn the engine off during the coaster and save your motor.

Re: Seat Stander coasters....

i did a 250 foot hc coaster before my engine blew up i figured the only way to make any coaster smooth is to do it in second gear first comes back to hard.

i dunno how far i can roll in spreader i usally run out of lot so i dunno but i know i can go over 300 with a short approach.
Hc i can go close to 200 maybe more with about 100ft approach
