how much are you worth?
Re: how much are you worth?
I think percentage or some pay scale based on size of event would be way to go any given event can only pay so much perhaps as many as possible of you that are capable of putting on a quality show could get together maybe next elvington event
several good ideas been put up by all already

Re: how much are you worth?
The gate thing wouldn't work for some places anyway.
The only show we do (more as a favour to the owner than anything else) is at MFN, just to spice up their local bike night, which is a free event to enter, so can't really charge a percentage of entry fees.
Plus if I walked up to a company, presented myself and asked for 10% of the gate takings, they'd tell me to do one because they didn't know who the hell i was. If I'd done some big name shows, and actually had some weight behind a presentation, it might work. But just going there and saying "I'm really good and will put on a good show, honest" isn't going to get me far as I'm an unknown entity to show riding.
Of course this is all relating to me and my opinion, so there's always room for argument.

Re: how much are you worth?
I think it's stupid to assess how much you as a stunter are worth without adding the suffix "to whom".
You may be worth more to someone who is interested in stunting or motorbikes more so than someone who is is not, so to stick a price tag on how much your worth and saying "that’s it, it's fixed" (e.g.£500) is ridicules. You are free to charge what you like and those spectators are free to spend what they like. Does it not stand to reason that if a person pays to see you perform, would prefer seeing your performance more so than the money and as a stunter you would prefer the money more so than your time and effort? There is no right or wrong amount to charge, you are free to decide for yourself how much to charge or how much to pay. It’s your money, it’s your asset you’re selling.

Re: how much are you worth?

Not been funny anyone, but if i'm asked to do a show then i will put in a price thats not going to undercut ME, as long as i think its fair for ME that i'll be happy with the price i give. I'll NEVER under cut someone i already knows has the show. But if they ask me and say SFD and i'm not aware of that, then i'll give them the price i think is fair for me.
I cant agree with sticking to a price anyone comes up with cuz i have my own mind. You can if you like guys, but i cant promise somethin i know its impossible to stick to. Just my

I still love you all
well most of you
Re: how much are you worth?
Well i,ve got to say its one of the best debates for a long time!
I think you should get payed !what amount, well as much as you can get!!
But from time to time you all are going to lose shows as organisers want differant people or teams to do a regular event as alot of the same punters go to the same events so they will want to see differant people not the same thing each year!!!
Its a Free Country after all and when i quote for a job and i quote on a regular basis, the customer is free to go for what ever quote he or she likes!!!I've told some customers who has rang me up because they wanted me to lower the quote because they like my work but the quote from a competitor was say £500 cheaper,i just say well if your in problems money wise, i can move a bit,say £50 BUT ITS A BIG BUT you do tend to get what you pay for and i have had costumers that have come back as that £500 cheaper turned out to be a big mistake and cost them £1000,s
Theres more people in the sport now, so people that puts on events have a greater choice,it you lost an event keep in contact with the organisers see how they got on with the competition if your that good they will book you next year! And wish they hadn't tried to go cheap
And if they don't well you aren't as good as you thought

Re: how much are you worth?
Maybe, but then, maybe a VW caddy is practical. I can put a bike in the back, i can put alot of things in the back.
Now lets look at how 240 wheels are practical..... They make you look gay, they will **** up your stunting, they will make your nice bike look gay, and your tyres will be more expensive.
The only thing 240s are good for, is fast tuned up bikes, or people who dont like side stands

Re: how much are you worth?
My brother in law is well into scooters, and maybe we could learn a few things off them!!!! They have a alliance, so lets say there are 20 scooter clubs in warwickshire, they all do there own thing most of the time, but I think twice a year every club gets together and has a weekend party, or a massive ride out. This is all sorted out with all the other clubs. Now for charity events and stuff Im sure every stunt club would get behind that, it could be something quite big!!! But for show bookings I think everyone has the right to do a show, you will know if your feeling good enough or not, as it comes to cost, and how to take care of a show, maybe an allinance could be set up to help stunt clubs get what they deserve. To get paid the right amount of money and to have a good safe show. There are a lot of people on here that have far more knowlage than me in this game, and it would be nice to call on people who want to help.
