how much are you worth?
Re: how much are you worth?
Would you undercut other stunters to get shows or events i have heard one or two rumours that this happens fair play or not?
So to try and stop the spiral of free shows ect its going to take some kind of agreement on what to charge input from people who do shows will help do it before someone replaces you for free.

Re: how much are you worth?
Ye thats what i was gettin at, big shows and top teams can charge £500 each per day, But i just didnt want everyone thinking if they dont make that price for every show a flat rate then they are gona under cut people.
Like i said, i think the price depends on who's doing what and where to make a fair price for everyone.
I dont dout not even for 1 min that anyone one on here would under cut anyone knownly, they are under cutting people. If a event plays us off each other knowing we know nothin about each other i dont think there would be anythin we can do to avoid that.
I think you are all just scared of skard4life going out there and taking you shows and your women

if i were to find out someone tryed to undercut one of my regular events that i have been doing for years then i would quite happly brake their legs, but if two teams were pitching for the same show at the same time then thats fair play as long as both teams stuck to the agreed price, organisers will try and run you against each other to pocket money as it is a business afterall

Re: how much are you worth?
small bike clubs pubs...no, but i wouldnt do those shows anyway.
what im trying to say is just because you can circle doesent meen you can put on a show, stunt riding on its own is boring to watch, without learning the correct crowd interactions and (IMO) bringing other stuff into it the show, the organisers dont get what they pay for, riders approach decent or even half decent shows and act un-profetional (ie change tyres 5 mins before a show and be late) then bore the crowd for half hour with the same old ****. When those organisers are approched by better teams, all we hear is " sorry guys, we had stunt riders last year and they were boring".........
Im not trying to put anyone down, im just saying if you ride for fun then ride for fun but as far as shows go, its a business and should be treated as such....

Re: how much are you worth?
I agree with everything you have said show riding is so different from comps and pissing about at ur local spot, not harder just different. but as the scene grows so do the amount of smaller shows and events that want a show. what i am suggesting is that nobody should do a show of any kind for less than say 20% of the gate that way it would stop the free show boom. obviously bigger and better teams could charge whatever they feel is right for the event and newer teams would have a starting point of what to charge if they felt they were good enough to put on a show, surely if everyone agreed on something like this it would in turn up the value of shows

Re: how much are you worth?
I agree with what ghostie said about not everyone can put on a show. And doing circles doesnt make you good enough to do shows.
Circles are boring after a couple of mins, to me, and to people who dont stunt. I like fast, edgy shiat, so people think your gonna crash and they dont wanna miss it when it goes wrong (but it never does, as its still controlled)
Im not good enough to do shows, nor am i a show rider, or comp rider. I just ride hard when i have a couple of people watching

But i do agree with not doing a free show. I think we should always cover our cost at least, fuel/tyres/insurance and so on.
IMO bussiness is bussiness, Dave i know you have your own garage, but i bet you or the other garages dont email each other and say well lets set a price for a mot or engine rebuild cuz that just woundn't happen

This is just my
I think we'll have to agree to dissagree.Whats all this about free shows anyway, has someone said they will do a show your ment to do but for free??
Re: how much are you worth?
I dont not agree with what your saying about not doing free shows. But i dont agree with the 20% gate fee thing. I just cant see it working.

Re: how much are you worth?
skard4life dont look for shows but if someone comes to us and asks us to do a show then well arrange a price and come to an aggrement. price is depending on the show i think. like with our dubai shows later in the year its a 20 day event so we come up with a price cus there paying for all expensis. saying you wouldnt do a show for free is a good thing. sod doing them for free. with dodge rams and 240 wheels on stunt bikes we need to be paid. lol
