Easier Wheelies

Hey, I'm up in Plaistow, NH. Like 20 min. from you. If you got a trailer you can pull your bike up one weekend and I'll show you! It's really pretty easy.

I'm having a hard time figuring how you can't get the front up. The KFX/Z 400 has plenty of power to wheelie, it's impossible NOT to wheelie if you really get on the gas in first! Explain your problem more!

Re: Easier Wheelies

1. get goin, shift to second, put left foot in grab bar(right foot covering brake)
2. Hit the gas and pull back at the same time a 400 should come up with ease.

I stunt a 300 and can power it in third, havent tried 4th yet

Not trying to hate here, but don't learn wheelies with your foot anywhere near the grab bar. There is no need for it on a 400.

It's all technique. I can "power" up my stock Z400 in 5th gear with both feet on the pegs.

I'll look for you on AIM later.

Re: Easier Wheelies

maybe your right, when i was learning it just seemed easier with a foot in the bar, he said he's rode bikes before so he should be used to it coming up and bein able to cover the break

standups were how i learned on my Z..one foot in the bar and one covering the break but i guess everyone is different

as for powering the Z/kfx up in 5th gear.....that all depends on how light you are...that thing isnt coming up with my fat *** on it in 5th gear

Powering up my Z in 5th gear is no easy chore! But it can be done! I have it on video somewhere... Not the greatest, I think we had some drag racing going on in a parking lot, and when I would win the race I would pull it up into a wheelie. I'll see if I can find it. I'm 6'1 and weigh about 190 if that makes a difference.

Its probrably just cuz im a rookie stunter, some pointers would really help, yeah im 20 mins south of you when I am home with family, but work keeps me on long Island. I would definetly take you up on your offer when Im home though. Im a pretty big guy too though that maybe why its harder for me.

Re: Easier Wheelies

I can Power My Z up in 5th no problem. I have it 1down&1Up. As far as just learning how to wheelie, Just Keep Practicing. the Z/KFX's have alot of Torque so If you're not Clutching it yet, you should have no Problem getting the Front end up in 1'st or 2nd.

Re: Easier Wheelies

Heres what you have to do. Put both feet in the grab bar get goin in second pull in the cluth, and rev it up to 9k and pop the clutch, while pulling up as hard as you can. Im sure you will be able to wheelie like that.
