300ex dumps out fuel when wheeling
Re: 300ex dumps out fuel when wheeling
read carefully....'increase the float height measurement'
Re: 300ex dumps out fuel when wheeling
my 300ex does the same, you can connect a bottle to catch some of the gas and pour it back in, run a tube either into a bottle or a thermos, the thermos seemed to last the longest for me, but if you do jumps or anything else, it tends to get ripped off.
you can't plug it either or allow it to fill too far, unless it is fuel injected it needs to spit the gas out
but changing the amount of gas in the float i would think it would make it stall, which most of the times it happens to me, unless i play with the clutch alot
i think i am going to wait in see how that new 700ex turns out, maybe get that!

Re: 300ex dumps out fuel when wheeling
the problem isn't an adjustment issue its just bad design. The float is near the front of the bowl-when in a wheelie fuel moves rearward and the float/needle/seat hangs wide open. I've read here on stuntlife that a diaphram style carb off a kfx400/z400 would fix the problem but I haven't tried it myself.

Your kinda right. Its not a bad design, it just wasnt designed to work for 12 o clock applications.....
